Juliette feels like a lady of the castle at our campsite
In the park of the castle is the 7 ha. big campsite. Juliette has here 2 safari tents with extra large dimensions, so ideal for groups and/or large families. The accompanying spacious, delimited and lightly paved pitches have a lot of green, sun and shadow. On these places you have a beautiful view over the surroundings towards Issoire or Les Pradeaux. Wake up in the morning, open the tent and enjoy the morning sun and the overwhelming view ... That's holidaying the way Juliette thinks it should be. The beautiful views of the surroundings, the river Allier and the old French village of Les Pradeaux are a delight to the eye. The spacious sites, not too close to the neighbours here is no nuisance and a good night's sleep is therefore certainly guaranteed!
The 15th century chateau La Grange Fort as a holiday paradise
The estate is located very centrally in France in the Auvergne. Important: The campsite is situated at approx. 400m altitude. This is very important with regard to the temperature (especially in the early and late season). At the tent you can sit outside in the evening in April, while 30 km east and west it can still be very cold, because there you are at 900m!
The luxury Safari lodge tents of Juliette

The perfect combination of the comfort of a hotel room and camping in nature. The feeling of being close to nature, only a tent cloth between you and the open air.... A wonderful experience every time!
Spacious 6-person tents, like in the days of Stanley and Livingstone. The tent has an external dimension of 9×6m, including a canopy of 2x6m. The inner tent is 7x5m. The ridge of the tent is over 3m high. The tents are made of very heavy cotton and have a robust but also a luxurious look. The interior consists of a wooden floor, polished scaffold wood furniture and a movable, very solid kitchen block so you can cook outside.
The walls of the bedrooms can be rolled up completely. There is fixed lighting both inside and outside. Enough sockets to be able to connect any equipment (max. 7A). There is also a heater for cool nights. The tent wall can also be rolled up, thus creating a lot of space.
Facilities
Naturally, there are sanitary facilities at various locations, with sitting toilets, showers, rinsing and dishwashing rooms with free hot water. Two baby washing rooms, washing machines and tumble dryers complete our facilities. These are housed in a special complex, centrally located in the campsite, so they are within easy reach for everyone. Disabled people can use our adapted toilet and shower facilities.
As you can read, Juliette offers plenty of highlights in this ancient heart of France. The campsite has a Dutch owner. so here you can speak in 4 languages.... Dutch, French, German and English.
Do you really want to relax during your well-earned holiday? Then come to this campsite in the Auvergne. It is a quiet area in the middle of France, the Massif Central. The Auvergne has relatively little tourism compared to the coastal regions. The Auvergne is an attractive area for both nature and sports lovers. The area has many picturesque villages.
A number of large cities like Vichy, Clermont-Ferrand and Moulins are alternated with surprising flora and fauna, rivers and various landscapes formed by old volcanoes in the amusement park "Parc Naturel Régional de Volcans".

The department Allier owes its name to the river "the Allier", which flows directly past our campsite. From the campsite it is possible to rent canoes to paddle down the river for a day.
Close to the campsite is the town of Issiore. A small town of about 25,000 inhabitants. It has a nice centre with cafés, restaurants and plenty of terraces, where you can enjoy the balmy summer evening until late.
From the campsite you can also easily drive to the Parc Naturel Régional des Volcans. The nature park includes the volcanic mountain massifs of Monts Dôme, Cézallier, Monts Dore and Monts du Cantal.
Haute-Loire has a medium-altitude landscape and many picturesque villages and Romanesque churches. In the middle of Auvergne, you will also find the mountain "Puy-de-Dôme". Puy-de-Dôme is named after the extinct volcano that towers above Clermont-Ferrand.
Cycling, hiking, kayaking and gliding
The rounded mountain tops, ridges, hidden valleys, waterfalls, lakes and rivers make the Auvergne a true paradise for hikers, cyclists and water sports enthusiasts. There is something for everyone in the Auvergne. The temperate climate means that camping in the Auvergne guarantees a relaxing holiday full of peace and adventure.
A grand view of the unique volcanic landscape from the Puy de Sancy at 1885 metres is an experience to remember. Or would you rather spend a day playing Jules Verne in the VULCANIA theme park and what do you think of an adventurous whitewater trip by kayak on the Allier?
At the campsite, various activities are organised, from a cosy and above all relaxed pub quiz to a sporty and active rafting trip on the river Allier. From the campsite beautiful cycling and walking routes have been set out. Some of these tours go through the nature park of the Livradois. At 5 km you will find the town of Issoire, where many weekly activities are organised. And would you like to take some brilliant photos of the holiday home from the air? From the glider airfield, it is possible, for a small fee, to take a sightseeing flight over the castle and campsite and take the most beautiful pictures....

On the campsite is a beautiful brasserie, where you can eat well and not expensive. A varied menu and a splendid view. Next to the swimming pool and near the jeu de boules lanes. A tip: After eating, enjoy the guided tour of the castle!
